Air travelTo get to Esbjerg, it is generally easiest to fly into the Danish airport Billund (airport code BLL), located in southern Jutland. Billund can be reached from nearly all major European airports. Travel between Billund and Esbjerg is possible by bus (about 90 min. travel time; cost about 50 DKK) or taxi (about 45 min,. travel time; cost about 400 DKK unmetered, 800 DKK metered). When taking a taxi, it is important that you reserve a special "airport taxi", which is unmetered and far less expensive. These must be reserved a couple of days in advance of your journey. Call Esbjerg Taxa directly to reserve an airport taxi (phone +45 7514 4500). It is also possible to fly into Copenhagen, although Copenhagen is located in the far eastern part of the easternmost major island of Denmark. If you fly into Copenhagen, you should expect a 3.5 hour train ride to reach Esbjerg.
